Paradise Cave, located in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, is generally open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day. To get there from Dong Hoi, take a bus or taxi to Phong Nha town (about 1 hour, 50 km), and then join an organized tour or shuttle to the site; I recommend booking in advance on the official park website.
Admission costs approximately 250,000 VND (around 10 USD) for foreign adults, which includes access to the cave and the internal shuttle. Children pay less, and there are discounts for Vietnamese visitors; check updated prices on the official website or at the ticket office, as entry is not free.
It is recommended to allow at least 2–3 hours for the full visit, including the shuttle ride and the walk along the illuminated pathways inside the cave. If you want to explore the rock formations in depth, plan a little extra time for photos and breaks.
Paradise Cave, discovered in 2005 by local explorers, is one of the longest and most beautiful caves in the world, with more than 31 km of passages and spectacular stalactite formations. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage area within Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, highlighting its geological and cultural value as a natural treasure of Vietnam.
The best period is the dry season from February to August, when the roads are accessible and there is less rain to disrupt the shuttle. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds and enjoy cooler temperatures inside the cave.
The main access involves a shuttle and stairs, so it is not fully wheelchair accessible, although there are paved paths in the initial sections. Visitors with reduced mobility can enjoy the entrance area and viewpoints; check with the staff on site or call +84 23 2386 9999 for adapted options.
Nearby, you can visit Phong Nha Cave (30 minutes by boat) or the famous Son Doong Cave for extreme adventures. You can also explore Phong Nha town for local restaurants; everything is within the national park, making it ideal for a full-day tour.
Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing, as the cave maintains a cool temperature of 20°C; do not forget insect repellent and water. Book tickets online at Oxalis Adventure to avoid queues, and consider hiring a guide to learn more about the geological wonders.
