Bai Dinh Pagoda is usually open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM every day. To get there, you can take a taxi from Ninh Binh or rent a motorbike. Once there, it's common to use electric carts to move around the complex due to its large size (small additional fee). It's an experience you can't miss!
Entrance to the Bai Dinh Pagoda complex is free. However, there are additional costs if you wish to use the electric carts to move around the vast grounds or if you visit the Bodhisattva Pagoda, which has a small entrance fee. It's worth every penny!
To explore Bai Dinh Pagoda calmly and appreciate all its majesty, we recommend setting aside at least 3 to 4 hours. It's a huge complex with multiple temples, giant statues and breathtaking landscapes that invite contemplation and stunning photos. If you want to go deeper, even 5 hours will feel short.
Bai Dinh Pagoda is the largest Buddhist temple complex in Vietnam and a major pilgrimage center. Famous for its world records, such as the largest bell or the corridors with the most Arhat statues, it combines modern and ancient architecture, paying tribute to the original birthplace of Buddhism in Vietnam. A true cultural gem that will make you feel the country's history!
The best time to visit is during the dry season, from November to April, when the weather is cooler and more pleasant. If you can choose the time of day, I suggest going first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds and the midday heat. Plus, the morning light is perfect for stunning photographs. You'll capture images that will leave everyone speechless!
Due to the size of the complex and the presence of stairs in several temples, full accessibility for people with reduced mobility can be a challenge. However, the electric carts make it easier to move around the main areas and many zones are flat. We recommend contacting the complex directly for more detailed information on the accessibility options available: +84 229 3888 000. Don't let anything stop you from experiencing this!
Ninh Binh is a place full of wonders. Near Bai Dinh, you can't miss a boat tour through Trang An Grottoes or Tam Coc Bich Dong, nicknamed the 'Halong Bay on land'. The Ancient Capital of Hoa Lu is also worth a visit. Your trip to Ninh Binh will be an unforgettable adventure!
Of course! Dress respectfully (shoulders and knees covered), wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a hat and sunscreen, and don't forget your camera. Have some cash ready for the electric carts and any offerings. Stay hydrated and be respectful of local customs. Enjoy this wonder to the fullest and create unforgettable memories!
