¿Sabías que estas cataratas nacieron de una pelea de hermanos por amor, con sangre tiñendo el agua? Escucha la historia que los locales susurramos.
The waterfalls are open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can get there by taxi (about 5 km, 10–15 minutes), by rented motorbike, or with an organized tour; the exact address is along 3 Thang 4 Road in Da Lat. More info on the official Datanla website.
Basic admission costs 50,000 VND per adult (children 25,000 VND) and includes access to the waterfalls. Optional activities such as the alpine coaster cost extra (around 60,000 VND round trip). Check updated prices on the official website.
Plan 1 to 2 hours to enjoy the waterfalls, the trail, and activities like the slide. If you include the coaster, add another 30 minutes for a full, unhurried experience.
The name comes from the legend of Datan, a hunter, and Kala, a princess of the Chil ethnic group, who fell in love there; the waterfall symbolizes their tragic and romantic story in the local culture of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities.
Early morning (8–10 AM) is ideal to avoid crowds and enjoy the soft sunlight; the dry season from December to April offers better weather and less rain. Avoid rainy afternoons during the wet season.
Main access is limited by stairs and steep paths; it is not recommended for wheelchairs, although there is an adapted coaster for going back up. Contact +84 263 3841 616 for special options.
Nearby are Truc Lam Monastery (2 km away), the cable car, and the Valley of Love (5–10 minutes by car). Combine them in one day to explore Da Lat; info at Vietnam Tourism.
Bring non-slip shoes, mosquito repellent, and water; try the thrilling alpine coaster on the way down. Go early for fewer people and photograph the waterfalls from several viewpoints.
