La Cueva de los Profetas en Şanlıurfa, Turquía, es un sitio sagrado asociado al nacimiento de figuras bíblicas como Abraham, enclavado junto al Estanque de los Peces Sagrados en un paisaje de devoción milenaria.
The Cave of the Prophets is open every day, generally from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM in summer and until 5:00 PM in winter. We recommend checking the official Turkey museums website before your visit.
Entry to the Cave of the Prophets is completely free. However, some nearby attractions such as the Archaeological Museum do require a ticket.
A full visit takes between 20 and 40 minutes. It is a small cave but full of historical symbolism, so we recommend taking your time to absorb the atmosphere.
According to tradition, this cave was the birthplace of the prophets Job and Abraham. It is a sacred site for the three Abrahamic religions.
The spring months (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are ideal because of the mild temperatures. In summer, avoid the middle of the day (12:00 PM-4:00 PM) when the heat is intense.
The cave has access with uneven steps and rocky ground. Unfortunately, it does not have ramps or wheelchair facilities. Shoes with good traction are recommended.
Just a few meters away you will find: the Pool of Sacred Fish, Sanliurfa Castle, and the impressive Archaeological Museum with remains from Gobekli Tepe.
Wear comfortable non-slip shoes, bring water (especially in summer), and respect the sacred character of the place. Women may wear a headscarf as a cultural courtesy, although it is not required.
