A natural canvas where the deep blue of the Mediterranean blends with the green of the Taurus Mountains, creating one of Antalya’s most iconic coastal settings.
Konyaaltı Beach is a public beach and, as such, it is open 24 hours a day, every day of the week, with no entrance fee. You can access it freely at any time. However, services such as sun loungers, umbrellas, or some leisure facilities usually involve an additional cost. To rent these services, I recommend asking directly at the beachfront establishments.
Good news! Access to Konyaaltı Beach is completely free. It is a public beach, and there is no entry fee to enjoy its waters or its long seaside promenade. That said, private services such as renting sun loungers, umbrellas, or using showers in some areas may have a cost, so keep that in mind.
To fully enjoy Konyaaltı Beach, we suggest setting aside at least half a day, around 3 to 4 hours. This will give you enough time to swim, sunbathe, stroll along the long waterfront promenade, and even enjoy some of the many dining options you’ll find by the beach. If you want to catch the sunset, plan your visit to end the day there—it’s spectacular!
Although Konyaaltı does not have a thousand-year-old history like some archaeological sites, its significance lies in being a fundamental part of modern life in Antalya. For years, it has been the main leisure spot for locals and tourists alike, contributing enormously to the region’s tourism development. Its name, 'Konyaaltı,' means 'below Konya,' referring to its position at the foot of the mountains that separate Antalya from the Konya plain, creating a stunning natural backdrop.
The best time to visit Konyaaltı Beach is from May to June and from September to October, when the weather is warm but the crowds are smaller than in July and August. To avoid the busiest times, I recommend going early in the morning, between 8:00 and 10:00, or later in the afternoon, after 5:00 p.m., to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere and, if you’re lucky, a beautiful sunset.
Absolutely! Konyaaltı Beach has made efforts to improve accessibility. Along the promenade you’ll find access ramps, and in some parts of the beach wooden walkways have been installed to make access to the sea easier for people with reduced mobility. For more specific information about adapted access points or services such as amphibious chairs, I suggest contacting the Antalya Tourism Office at +90 242 247 76 85 or visiting its official website (Antalya Tourism).
There’s plenty to do! Very close to Konyaaltı Beach, you can visit Antalya Aquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the world and ideal for families. There is also Antalya Museum, with impressive archaeological collections. If you’re looking for nature and great views, the Tünektepe Cable Car (Tünektepe Cable Car) will take you to the summit for a spectacular panorama of the coast.
Of course! First, bring high-factor sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses—the sun in Antalya is strong. Second, there are many restaurants and cafés along the promenade, but you can also find cheaper snack and drink stands. Third, the waterfront promenade is perfect for walking or cycling, so go for it. And one last tip: the sunset from Konyaaltı is magical—don’t miss it if you can!
