Un vasto oasis natural en la costa suroeste de Turquía, con densos bosques de pinos, calas escondidas y una rica biodiversidad marina y terrestre. Ideal para descubrir la armonía entre mar y montaña.
The park is a natural area open 24 hours a day, although I recommend visiting in daylight to enjoy the trails. You can get there easily by car or by using the dolmuş (local minibuses) that depart from central Marmaris.
Entry to the national park itself is generally free for pedestrians, but if you arrive by vehicle you will need to pay a small parking fee. Keep in mind that some private beaches within the area may charge for the use of sun loungers.
For a full experience that includes a gentle walk and photo stops, I suggest allowing at least 3 to 4 hours. If you plan to have a picnic or take longer hiking routes, you could easily spend half a day enjoying nature.
Beyond its beauty, it protects unique species such as the sweetgum tree and contains remains of the ancient city of Physkos. It is a vital green lung and an archaeological site that connects nature with the history of ancient Caria.
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are ideal for avoiding the stifling summer heat. I recommend going early in the morning to see active wildlife and enjoy the peace before tourist groups arrive.
Accessibility is limited due to the natural and rugged terrain of the forest trails. However, the seafront walking areas and certain viewpoints near the main road are accessible for wheelchairs.
Make the most of your visit by heading to Marmaris Castle or taking a walk around the marina at Netsel Marina. You are also very close to the departure point for boats to the famous Sedir Island, also known as Cleopatra Island.
Bring comfortable hiking shoes and enough water, as services are limited in the deeper forest areas. Do not forget your camera, and for an immersive experience, consider bringing a digital audio guide such as those from IAudioguia to better understand what you are seeing.
