Donde el agua corría caliente... y los chismes más aún. Descubre los secretos del spa más exclusivo del siglo II.
The Ephesus Archaeological Museum is open daily from 8:30 to 17:30 (April 1 to October 1) and until 18:30 in high season. We recommend checking updated hours on its official website before visiting.
Museum admission (including the Varius Baths) costs approximately 340 TRY (2024). There is also a combined ticket with the Ephesus archaeological site. It is best to buy at the ticket office or check current prices on the Turkish museums portal.
We recommend setting aside 30-45 minutes to explore the Varius Baths and read the explanations. If you are visiting the entire museum, allow 2-3 hours to enjoy all the galleries.
These 2nd-century AD Roman baths showcase the heating system (hypocaust) and served as a social center where the people of Ephesus gathered for business and leisure. They are among the best-preserved in the ancient city.
Visit in spring (April-May) or autumn (September-October) to avoid extreme heat. The early morning hours are ideal for smaller crowds and better photographic light.
The museum has adapted main access points, but some archaeological areas such as the Baths have uneven ground. There are ramps in key areas. Ask staff on arrival for accessible routes.
Do not miss: 1) Great Theatre of Ephesus (10 minutes on foot) 2) Library of Celsus 3) Terrace Houses (separate ticket). More info at UNESCO Ephesus.
