The museum is open every day: from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM in summer (April-October) and from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in winter (November-March). Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. We recommend confirming opening hours on the official website: Ephesus Archaeological Museum.
General admission costs 340 TRY (about €10.5) and includes access to the entire exhibition. Discounts are available for students. If you plan to visit several museums, the Museum Pass Turkey is a good option: Museum Pass Turkey.
We recommend allowing 20-30 minutes to appreciate this monumental fountain. If you are visiting the entire museum, plan for 2-3 hours. The explanatory panels and possible audio guides (iaudioguia.com) help you explore in greater depth.
It is one of the best-preserved monuments of Ephesus, built in AD 102-114 to honor Emperor Trajan. It stands out for its two-story architecture, mythological statues, and advanced hydraulic system.
The early hours (8:30-10:30 AM) are ideal: fewer tourists and pleasant temperatures. Avoid midday in summer (up to 40°C). Low season (November-February) offers quieter visits but occasional rain.
The interior of the museum has ramps and elevators, but the surrounding archaeological area has uneven ground. Trajan Fountain is on the ground floor. For detailed accessibility information, call +90 232 892 6010.
Must-see sites within 5 km! The Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre of Ephesus, and the Temple of Artemis (one of the Wonders of the Ancient World). More information at: Turkey Tourism.
Wear comfortable shoes (worn stone surfaces), and bring water and sunscreen. Use an audio guide for historical context without missing details. Combine it with a morning visit to Ephesus and the museum in the afternoon.
