The theatre is generally open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM in summer and until 5:00 PM in winter (check for changes during the low season). To get there, take a bus from Çeşme to Ildırı (20 minutes), where it is located. More details: Turkish Ministry of Culture.

We recommend allowing 45 minutes to 1 hour. Although it is small, its seaside setting invites you to enjoy the historic surroundings. Comfortable shoes are ideal for walking on the seating tiers.
Built in the 3rd century BC, it was part of Erythrai, one of the 12 Ionian cities. Dramatic performances and public assemblies were held here. An interesting detail: it preserves 18 original rows of seats.
Spring (April to June) or autumn (September to November), when temperatures are mild. In summer, visit before 11 AM or after 4 PM to avoid the hottest part of the day.
The uneven ground and steps make it difficult for wheelchairs. There are dirt paths and steep slopes. Visiting with a companion is recommended if you have mobility limitations.
Nearby, do not miss: 1) Çeşme Castle (20 minutes by car), 2) the charming village of Alaçatı, and 3) the ruins of the ancient city of Erythrai (next to the theatre).
