Donde las aguas termales esconden batallas incendiarias, baños romanos y un parque acuático rebelde
As a public beach, Ilıca Beach does not have a formal closing time. You can access it at any time of day. It is located about 10 kilometers from Çeşme and can be reached easily by dolmuş (shared minibus), private car, or taxi. There are several dolmuş stops along the coast.
Good news! Ilıca Beach is a public beach, and access is completely free. However, if you want to rent umbrellas, sun loungers, or use private beach services, those will involve an additional cost.
To fully enjoy Ilıca Beach and its thermal waters, we recommend spending at least half a day, around 3 to 5 hours. This will give you time to relax, swim in its warm waters, and enjoy the views. If you plan to eat there, allow extra time.
What makes Ilıca Beach unique are its natural thermal springs that rise from the seabed and mix with the saltwater. This makes it a very popular natural spa, known for its beneficial mineral properties. While it does not have a major cultural history like ancient ruins, its importance lies more in its geothermal features.
The best time to visit Ilıca Beach is in spring (April-May) or early autumn (September-October), when the weather is pleasant and there are fewer tourists. If you go in summer, try to arrive early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid peak hours, especially on weekends.
In general, Ilıca Beach has areas where access to the sand is quite flat and easy. However, since it is a natural beach, not all sections may be equipped with specific wheelchair ramps or walkways leading into the water. We recommend checking with nearby beach establishments to see whether they offer any assistance.
There is plenty to see nearby! Do not miss the charming town of Alaçatı, famous for its windmills and stone houses. You can also visit Çeşme Castle for a bit of history or enjoy the local cuisine in the area’s many restaurants.
Of course—here are a few! Bring sunscreen and a hat, as the sun can be intense. Although there are food options available, consider bringing your own snacks and drinks for extra convenience. Do not forget your camera to capture the beautiful scenery. And most importantly, relax and enjoy the thermal waters!
