Aguas termales romanas que burbujean desde hace 2.500 años, curando reyes y humildes con secretos que te harán volver por más.
The Sifne Hot Springs are open 24 hours a day all year round, as they are natural outdoor thermal pools with free access. They are located in Ilica, about 5 km from the center of Cesme; you can get there by local bus, taxi, or car by following the signs to Ilica. For more details, see the official culture portal.
Admission to the Sifne Hot Springs is completely free, as this is a natural site open to the public. There are no entrance fees and no need to buy tickets; just bring the essentials to enjoy them.
It is recommended to allow 1 to 2 hours to enjoy the thermal pools, relax in the waters, and explore the surrounding area. If you combine the visit with a swim at the nearby beach, it could extend to half a morning.
These hot springs date back to the Roman period (1st century BC), and are famous for their mineral-rich thermal waters with medicinal properties for the skin and joints. They have been a healing destination since antiquity and are part of the cultural heritage of the Cesme region.
The best season is summer (June to September) because of the warm weather, ideal for thermal bathing; go early in the morning (8–10 am) to avoid crowds and enjoy the fresh water. Avoid midday in July and August because of the intense heat.
Access is not fully adapted: there are steps and uneven ground around the natural pools, which makes it difficult for wheelchairs. If you have reduced mobility, consider going with assistance or choosing nearby hotels with more accessible private thermal baths.
Nearby you will find Ilica Beach (1 km away) for a sea swim, the center of Cesme with its castle and harbor (5 km), and Alacati with its stone houses and windmills (10 km). Everything is well connected by public transport.
Bring a swimsuit, towel, flip-flops, sunscreen, and water; do not eat a heavy meal beforehand to avoid discomfort in the hot water (38–45°C). Respect the natural surroundings by not leaving litter, and call Cesme tourism (+90 232 712 66 55) for updates.
