A refreshing river in Alanya offering natural scenery, water activities, and local cuisine.
The Dim River is a natural attraction open daily during daylight hours (approximately 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM in summer). It is just 6 km from the center: you can get there by taxi (15 minutes), local bus (route to Dim River), or rental car via the D400 road. More details on Alanya's official website.
Access to the river is free. You only pay for extras if you use private services: parking (around 20 TRY), sun loungers/umbrellas (50-100 TRY), or floating restaurants. Bring cash in Turkish lira for convenience!
Ideally, 2 to 3 hours to enjoy swimming in its crystal-clear pools, eating at the restaurants over the water, and walking the trails. If you also visit nearby Dim Cave, add 1 extra hour.
More than historical, its value is ecological and touristic. This mountain river has supplied water to the region since ancient times and today is famous for its unspoiled landscapes. It should not be confused with the historic Alanya Castle, 30 minutes from here.
From May to September, when the weather allows swimming (water at 18-22°C). The best time of day is before 11:00 AM to avoid crowds. Avoid weekends if you are looking for peace and quiet!
Only partially: some restaurants have adapted access, but the natural trails are uneven and the swimming platforms have steps. Visiting with a companion is recommended for assistance in rocky areas.
A 10-minute drive away is Dim Cave (a must-see), 15 minutes away is Cleopatra Beach, and 25 minutes away is Alanya Castle. Complete your day with this route: nature, history, and sea!
1) Wear non-slip footwear for wet stones 2) Try fresh fish at the riverside restaurants 3) Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent 4) Enjoy the clearest water farther upstream, away from the restaurants.
