Donde las estatuas cuentan secretos de budismo, erotismo y un escultor que desafió a todos
Prap Ho Park is open every day from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is located about 3 km from the center of Nong Khai. You can easily get there by tuk-tuk, private taxi, or by renting a bicycle (ideal for exploring freely).
Admission has a symbolic cost of 40 THB (approx. €1). Children under 10 usually enter for free. It is recommended to bring cash in Thai baht, as cards are not accepted.
A complete visit takes between 1 and 2 hours, perfect for a morning or afternoon tour. If you want to photograph all the sculptures carefully or rest in the shaded areas, allow more time.
The surrealist sculptures depict Buddhist and Hindu myths. They were created in the 1970s by Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat, the same artist behind the famous Sala Keoku (Buddha Park). This park is a lesser-known extension of his work.
From November to February (cool season), with milder temperatures. At any time of year, go early (8-10 AM) to avoid the heat and crowds.
The terrain is flat, but it has dirt and gravel paths that can make wheelchair access difficult. There are no specific ramps installed.
Take advantage to see these nearby attractions: 1. Sala Keoku (Buddha Park) (the park's older brother) 2. Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge 3. Nong Khai Aquarium (neaq.org)
1. Use sunscreen and bring water (there are few drink stalls) 2. Comfortable footwear for walking on dirt 3. Download the audio guide for Nong Khai here to better understand its symbolism
