La Bahía Cho es una playa serena y pintoresca en la isla de Ko Samet, Tailandia, con arena fina, aguas cristalinas y un ambiente relajado ideal para desconectar del bullicio turístico.
Ao Cho Beach is public and accessible 24 hours a day, although boats from Ban Phe generally operate between 08:00 and 18:00. To get there, take a ferry to Nadan Pier on Ko Samet and then a local green songthaew taxi, which will drop you at the beach entrance in about 10–15 minutes.
Access to the beach itself is free, but keep in mind that Ko Samet is part of Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park. Foreign visitors must pay a park entrance fee upon arrival on the island (approx. 200 THB for adults, 100 THB for children), which usually includes access to all beaches.
Ao Cho is known as a peaceful retreat, so we recommend spending at least half a day (4–5 hours) to unwind, swim peacefully, and enjoy a meal by the sea. If you are looking for total relaxation, it is the perfect place to stay for sunset.
Rather than being a historic wartime site, Ao Cho represents the traditional culture of Thai relaxation and island life before mass tourism. It is famous for its iconic wooden pier stretching into the sea, a local symbol that has inspired photographers and nature lovers for decades.
The ideal season is from November to February, when the weather is dry and temperatures are pleasant. The best time of day is late afternoon; the golden light over the wooden pier creates a magical atmosphere, and the temperatures drop, making the walk much more enjoyable.
Accessibility is limited due to the sandy terrain and the dirt paths connecting the main road to the beach. Although you can get close to the sand by vehicle, moving along the shoreline in a wheelchair can be difficult without assistance.
A short walk south will bring you to Ao Wong Duean, a livelier crescent-shaped beach with more services. To the north, you can walk to Ao Phai or Sai Kaew if you are looking for nightlife, or visit the National Park viewpoint for panoramic views.
Bring cash (Thai baht), as the small restaurants and bars on this beach do not always accept cards. For a complete experience, we suggest bringing an audio guide from IAudioguia.com to discover the area’s secrets while you relax under a beach umbrella.
