¿Sabías que aquí yace un Buda reclinado más largo que un campo de fútbol? Ven, te cuento los secretos que solo los locales conocemos.
The temple is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is located 30 km from the city of Chaiyaphum. You can get there by taxi or by hiring a motorcycle taxi from Pak Phriao. Check updated routes at Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Admission is free, but voluntary donations for temple maintenance are appreciated. Some special areas may have small fees (20-50 THB).
We recommend allowing 1-2 hours to fully explore the complex, including the impressive main Buddha image and the surrounding area with panoramic views.
Wat Phra Phutthachai is home to one of the largest Buddha statues in the region, carved into a mountainside. It has been a symbol of local devotion since its creation in the 20th century.
Visit between November and February during the dry season (20-30°C). Mornings are ideal to avoid the heat and the crowds. Avoid Thai holiday weekends.
Access includes stairs and uneven ground. There are no ramps or elevators. Assistance is recommended for wheelchair users. Parking is 300 m from the main entrance.
Nearby you can visit Phu Laen Kha National Park (15 km away) with waterfalls, or Wat Sila At Phu Phra (a temple with sacred rocks). More info at Chaiyaphum Attractions.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and bring water. Respect the dress code (shoulders and knees covered). On Friday mornings you may see special local ceremonies.
