Discover Pattaya Beach in Chon Buri Province. A unique experience to explore its history and significance.
As a public beach, access is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It runs parallel to the city center, so you can easily get there on foot or by taking a songthaew (blue shared pickup taxi) for a very affordable fare.
Access to the beach is completely free, so you can walk along it and swim at no cost. You will only need to pay if you decide to rent a sun lounger and umbrella (about 50 to 100 THB) or book water activities.
We recommend setting aside between 2 and 4 hours to enjoy the sun, the sea, and a relaxed walk along the promenade. If you plan to have dinner in the area or watch the sunset, your visit can easily extend to half a day.
Originally a quiet fishing village, Pattaya gained importance in the 1960s as a rest and recreation destination for American soldiers during the Vietnam War. This event radically transformed its economy and turned it into the major international tourist destination it is today.
The best time is from November to February, when the weather is cooler and drier. To enjoy it at its best, go early in the morning to avoid crowds or at sunset for spectacular views and more pleasant temperatures.
The seafront promenade along Beach Road has been renovated and has paved sidewalks suitable for wheelchairs. However, direct access to the sand can be difficult without assistance due to the lack of extended ramps reaching the shoreline.
You are just a few steps from the famous Walking Street, the epicenter of nightlife. You can also visit the huge Central Festival Pattaya Beach shopping mall for air-conditioned shopping and dining.
Always agree on the price of taxis or water sports before accepting the service to avoid overcharging. And for a richer experience, don’t forget to bring your IAudioguia to discover hidden stories as you explore the coastline.
