Donde un rey tailandés jugó al Tetris con palacios y un príncipe rebelde se refugió entre fantasmas de sirena.
The lighthouse is open daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with free admission. To get there, take a ferry from Si Racha Pier (45 minutes, about 50 THB one way), then rent a motorbike or take a taxi on the island to the southern tip. More info at Tourism Thailand.
Admission to the lighthouse is completely free. You will only pay for the ferry (around 50–80 THB per trip) and local transport on the island, such as motorbike rental for 200 THB/day.
It is recommended to allow 30–60 minutes to climb up, enjoy the panoramic views, and take photos. If you combine it with a tour around the island, plan for 2–3 hours in total.
Built in 1957, the lighthouse guides ships in the Gulf of Thailand and offers impressive views of the island and the mainland. It is a symbol of Ko Sichang, with local maritime and cultural importance.
Sunrise or sunset are ideal for spectacular photos and cooler temperatures. Visit during the dry season (November to February) to avoid rain; avoid midday because of the intense sun.
It is not very accessible: there are steep stairs and uneven paths up to the top. If you have reduced mobility, enjoy the views from the base or consider flatter attractions elsewhere on the island.
Nearby you will find Wang Kaew Summer Palace, Chao Pho Khao Yai Temple, and beaches such as Hat Tham Suan. You can explore the whole island in a day by combining these visits.
Bring water, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes for the stairs. Rent a motorbike to get around freely (license required) and try the local seafood. Download an audio guide at IAudioguia to enrich the experience.
