La cueva que paralizó al mundo guarda secretos milenarios, un drama real y más de un dato para reír... o temblar.
The park is open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can get there by car or motorbike from Chiang Rai, which is about 70 km away. There are also organized tours that include transportation. For more details, visit Tourism Thailand.
Entry to the park is free, but to access caves such as Tham Luang, there may be a small symbolic fee of around 20-50 THB for maintenance. Guides are not required, but hiring a local guide can enrich the experience.
It is recommended to allow at least 2-3 hours to explore the park and the main caves. If you plan to hike or visit more remote areas, consider setting aside half a day or more.
This park is famous for Tham Luang Cave, where in 2018 a youth soccer team trapped inside was rescued. In addition, the area has unique geological formations and is sacred to local communities. You can learn more at Thailand News.
The best time is from November to February, when the weather is cool and dry. Avoid the rainy season (May-October) because of possible flooding in the caves. Visit early in the morning to avoid crowds and the heat.
Access to the caves can be challenging because of uneven terrain and stairs. However, parts of the park area are accessible. It is recommended to contact the visitor center for more details: +66 53 717 433.
Nearby you can visit the Doi Tung Botanical Garden or Wat Rong Khun (White Temple). The Golden Triangle is also about 90 km away, making it ideal to combine in a tour.
Bring sturdy footwear, water, and a rain jacket (even in the dry season). Respecting the safety signs in the caves is crucial. If you are traveling in a group, consider hiring a local guide for a safer and more educational experience.
