The viewpoint is an open natural space accessible 24 hours a day, although if you travel by public transport you will depend on the cable car schedule. The most convenient way to get there is by taking the cable car to Niederhorn station and walking a few minutes.

Access to the viewpoint itself is completely free and open to the public. However, you will need to pay for the funicular or cable car ticket if you choose to use mountain transport; prices can be checked on the Niederhornbahn website.

To enjoy the panoramic views and take good photographs, about 30 to 45 minutes at the top is enough. If you plan to do any hiking in the surrounding area, we recommend setting aside at least half a day.

This viewpoint is famous for offering one of the most impressive perspectives of the 'Swiss Triumvirate': the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks above Lake Thun. It is an essential geographic landmark for admiring the majesty of the Bernese Alps.

Clear days are essential; it is recommended to go early in the morning for better visibility or at sunset for spectacular light. The summer season (June to September) is ideal for combining the visit with safe hikes.

The Niederhorn mountain station is wheelchair accessible and has adapted facilities. However, the terrain leading to certain exact points of the natural Burgfeld viewpoint can be uneven, so it is advisable to check trail conditions on site.

Make the most of your stay by visiting the impressive St. Beatus Caves located near the lakeshore. You can also explore the hiking trails that connect with the village of Beatenberg, known as the 'sun terrace'.
