The guided house tour lasts about 45 minutes, but it is recommended to allow 1.5 to 2 hours in total to explore the historic gardens, the supplementary exhibition, and the museum shop at a relaxed pace.
It was the home of the iconic Swedish artist Carl Larsson (1853-1919), whose style deeply influenced Scandinavian design. The house preserves its original appearance, with frescoes and furnishings created by Larsson and his wife Karin, a pioneer of textile design.
July and August are ideal for seeing the gardens in full bloom and enjoying good weather. To avoid crowds, visit early in the morning or on weekdays. September offers spectacular autumn colors.
Only partially. The ground floor of the house is accessible, but the upstairs rooms require climbing narrow stairs. The gardens have uneven terrain. It is recommended to contact the museum in advance at +46 (0)23-600 53 to discuss specific needs.
Fifteen minutes away is Falun with its famous Copper Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We also recommend the Dalarna Museum and the traditional village of Tallberg. More ideas: Dalarna Tourism
