Un paraje natural espectacular con cascadas, pozas y saltos de agua en la Sierra de Guadarrama, perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza en su estado más puro.
As this is a natural pool in the bed of the Árrago River, access is free and open 24 hours a day for walking or swimming. However, if you are looking for specific services such as the beach bar or lifeguards, they usually operate during the middle of the day in the summer season.
Enjoying this natural spot in Cadalso is completely free, so you do not need to buy a ticket to access the water or the relaxation areas. It is a perfect low-cost plan, although we recommend bringing some cash if you plan to buy something at the nearby kiosks.
To enjoy a refreshing swim, relax in its green areas, and perhaps have a picnic, we suggest setting aside at least half a day, around 3 or 4 hours. Many visitors choose to spend the whole day, combining a swim with a visit to the village of Cadalso.
Los Cachones has long stood out for its spaciousness and for being one of the most emblematic natural pools in Sierra de Gata, blending nature and leisure. Its importance lies in being the social heart of summer in the area, offering the clean waters of the Árrago River in a setting of great scenic beauty.
Without a doubt, the summer months, from mid-June to September, are ideal for enjoying the water and the lively atmosphere. If you prefer photography, peace and quiet, and seeing the river with a stronger flow without intending to swim, spring offers a spectacular green landscape.
The area is usually equipped with paved access paths and ramps at certain points to make it easier to reach the shore, making it quite convenient for families with children. However, as it is a natural setting, it is always advisable to check the condition of the ground when you arrive if you are using a wheelchair.
You are in a strategic location for visiting charming villages with black architecture such as Robledillo de Gata or the historic town of Santibáñez el Alto. The whole region offers hiking routes and excellent local cuisine just a few kilometers away by car.
We strongly recommend bringing water shoes or jelly sandals so you can walk safely on the rocky riverbed and avoid slipping. Also, if you are going on an August weekend, try to arrive early to find a good spot in the shaded or grassy area.
