Donde las piedras cuentan guerras, traiciones y los secretos mejor guardados de Vic.
The bridge is an open-air structure with free access 24 hours a day. However, we recommend visiting during daylight hours (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) to better appreciate its details. For specific information, you can contact the Vic Tourist Office: www.victurisme.cat.
The visit is completely free, as it is a monument integrated into the public space. No tickets or advance reservations are required to enter.
We recommend 20 to 30 minutes, enough time to photograph it from different angles, read its information panels, and enjoy the views of the Meder River and its natural surroundings.
Built between the 11th and 13th centuries, it is one of the few complete medieval bridges in Catalonia. It was part of the old royal road between Vic and Barcelona, witnessing the historic trade of the Osona region.
Spring (April to June), when the river carries more water and the surroundings are green. In autumn it offers spectacular colors. Avoid days of heavy rain, as access may be slippery.
It presents some difficulty: uneven paving, steps at the entrances, and low railings. It is not adapted for wheelchairs. Non-slip footwear is recommended.
A 10-minute drive away is Vic's historic center, with its Roman Temple (2nd century AD), Saint Peter's Cathedral, and Medieval Market. Also nearby is Albert Stream Park: Vic natural spaces.
Wear comfortable shoes for uneven ground. If you go at sunset, use insect repellent. Combine your visit with the SL-C 68 "Bridge Route" trail, which includes 3 other nearby historic bridges.
