El Museo Comarcal de Berga resguarda el patrimonio del Berguedà, desde fósiles milenarios hasta piezas etnográficas que narran la vida en esta comarca catalana.
The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (closed on Mondays). It is located at 2 Hospital Street, Berga. There is nearby parking, and you can check the exact location on the official website.
General admission is free, although some temporary exhibitions may have specific fees. School groups or guided visits require prior booking by calling +34 938 211 384.
It is recommended to spend between 1.5 and 2 hours to fully explore the permanent collections of archaeology, ethnology, and art, spread over two floors.
The museum, located in Casa Gomis, a 16th-century Renaissance building, preserves the memory of Berguedà with pieces ranging from prehistory to industrialization. Its textile collection and the recreation of a traditional kitchen are especially noteworthy.
Avoid Sunday mornings if you are looking for a quieter visit. May to September is ideal for combining your visit with La Patum, a UNESCO-recognized festival, or performances from the Berga Escena Festival.
Only the ground floor is accessible due to the limitations of the historic building. There is an adapted bathroom and portable seating available for visitors who request it.
Five minutes away you will find the medieval Sant Pere Square and the Patum Museum. Ten kilometers away, the Sanctuary of Queralt offers incredible views. More information is available at Berguedà Tourism.
Wear comfortable shoes, as there are stairs on the upper floors, check the temporary exhibitions on the website, and complete your experience with the free audio guide available at reception.
