It stands on an islet that, according to legend, once held a Phoenician temple to Moloch and a Roman temple to Hercules, which gives it great historical and archaeological value. Its importance also lies in its defensive role and its unique maritime setting.

To avoid crowds, I recommend visiting the Castle of San Sebastián early in the morning or late in the afternoon. During spring and autumn, the weather is milder and there are usually fewer tourists than in the height of summer, making it an ideal time.

The main access to the castle is via a long flat bridge, which is suitable. However, inside the fortifications, accessibility may be limited due to uneven levels, irregular surfaces, or stairs typical of this type of historic construction.
