Carska Bara Nature Reserve is open year-round during daylight hours. To get there, take the E75 highway from Belgrade toward Novi Sad to the Titel exit. Check updated maps at Serbia Tourism.

A basic visit takes 2-3 hours to walk the main trails. Birdwatchers usually spend 4+ hours. Arrive early if you plan to do the full range of activities.
It is the largest preserved wetland in Serbia (17 km²), protected since 1955 for its biodiversity, with 250+ bird species. It was a royal hunting refuge during the Austro-Hungarian era.
Spring (March-May) and autumn (Sept-Oct) are ideal for migrations. July-August are good for resident birds. Early morning hours offer the most activity.
The main trails have limited accessibility (compacted dirt paths). The Visitor Center and main viewpoints are adapted. Contact +381 23 581 444 in advance for more information.
15 km away is the ethnographic museum Museum of Vojvodina in Novi Sad. You can also visit the Danube terraces at the Titel Hill viewpoint with panoramic views.
We recommend: insect repellent, waterproof footwear, water, sunscreen, and binoculars if you are interested in birds. Avoid bright clothing that may scare wildlife.
