Antigua iglesia católica en el corazón de Ruma, Serbia, que fusiona historia barroca con la rica herencia multicultural de la región de Vojvodina. Un rincón de fe y arte en medio de los Balcanes.
The Catholic Parish Church of Ruma is usually open daily for religious services and visits. We recommend checking specific hours in advance by calling +381 22 461 148 or consulting the Archdiocese of Belgrade (higher institution). Entry is through the main entrance.
Visiting the parish church is free, although voluntary donations for the maintenance of the church are appreciated. If you wish to attend special celebrations or concerts, advance booking may be required.
A full visit takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on your interest in the architecture and historical details. You can combine your visit with a walk through the historic center of Ruma for a more complete experience.
It is a key symbol of Catholicism in Vojvodina, built in Neo-Gothic style at the beginning of the 20th century (1903). It represents the region’s multicultural heritage and is a Protected Cultural Heritage Site of Serbia.
Mornings from Tuesday to Friday are less crowded. For a special experience, time your visit with events such as the Organ Festival in September. Avoid Mass times if your main goal is sightseeing.
There is basic access to the main nave, but some areas (such as the crypt or choir loft) have steps. Contact +381 22 461 148 in advance to request specific assistance if needed.
In Ruma, you can visit the National Museum (400 m away), Nikola Tesla Park, and the Contemporary Art Gallery. Kupinik Fortress is a 20-minute drive away. More info at Ruma Tourism.
1) Dress modestly (men: no hats; women: shoulders covered). 2) Silence mobile phones. 3) Flash-free photography is allowed outside Mass times. 4) Check the event board at the entrance for special cultural activities during your stay.
