La fortaleza de Belgrado que ha cambiado de manos 115 veces, con un dinosaurio de por medio y vistas que quitan el aliento.
The park and the fortress are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so access is completely free. However, specific attractions such as the Clock Tower or the Military Museum usually operate from 11:00 to 19:00; you can check for updates on their official website.
Entry to the fortress complex and the park is completely free, ideal for a walk without spending money. You will only need to pay a modest fee if you decide to enter specific sites such as the Nebojša Tower, the Roman Well, or the Military Museum.
For a full experience that includes the walls, the river views, and the Victor Monument, I recommend setting aside between 2 and 3 hours. If you plan to enter the zoo or visit the museums in detail, your visit could easily extend to half a day.
It is the historical heart of the city, having been destroyed and rebuilt more than 40 times by Romans, Ottomans, and Austro-Hungarians. Its strategic location overlooks the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, standing as a silent witness to centuries of battles.
Without a doubt, sunset is the magical moment; the views of the sun setting over the confluence of the rivers are spectacular. In addition, in summer, the evenings are cooler and the atmosphere in the park is very lively.
Accessibility is mixed; the upper park has wide paved paths suitable for wheelchairs. However, keep in mind that going down to the Lower Town or accessing certain towers involves navigating old cobblestones and steep stairs.
Right outside, you will find the end of Knez Mihailova Street, the city’s most famous pedestrian and shopping avenue. Also, within the same park complex, you will find the popular Belgrade Zoo.
Wear very comfortable shoes, as you will walk a lot on uneven ground and cobblestones. Do not forget your camera for a photo next to the 'Pobednik' statue (The Victor), and bring water if you visit during the hot summer months.
