Audio Guide of Yellow Crag

As it is an open-air mural painting in the heart of nature, Yellow Crag is accessible 24 hours a day, every day of the year. However, I strongly recommend going during daylight hours to appreciate the colors of the fresco.

The visit usually lasts between 45 minutes and one hour. This includes the walk from the nearest access point, time to admire the work and take photographs, and the return walk.

This work, painted in 1995 by the artist Manuel da Assunção, depicts a hunting scene based on the famous novel 'The Little Lady of Canaviais.' It is a unique literary and artistic tribute painted directly onto the granite.

Spring and autumn are ideal because of the mild weather and the colors of the natural surroundings. I suggest avoiding the middle of the day in high summer, as the sun can be intense during the walk.

Unfortunately, no. Access is via dirt trails and uneven countryside terrain, which makes it very difficult for people with reduced mobility or for wheelchairs.

You are very close to the historic center of Miranda do Douro, where you can visit the Co-Cathedral and take the environmental cruise on the International Douro. It is the perfect way to round off the day.
