El Palacio de Estoi es una joya rococó del siglo XVIII en el Algarve portugués, con jardines exuberantes, fachadas ornamentadas y una historia ligada a la nobleza local. Hoy invita a descubrir su esplendor arquitectónico y artístico.
Estoi Palace is open from Wednesday to Sunday: 9:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00 (closed Monday and Tuesday). It is easily reached from Faro by car (10 min) or on urban bus L39. Check for possible changes at www.cm-faro.pt
General admission costs €2, with discounts for people over 65 and students (€1). Free on Sundays until 14:00. It is recommended to bring cash, as cards are not always accepted.
We recommend allowing 1.5-2 hours to explore at a relaxed pace: 45 minutes for the historic palace (painted ceilings, azulejos), and the rest for its gardens with fountains and panoramic views.
It is the only example of Rococo style in the Algarve (19th century). It stands out for its Italian gardens and neoclassical elements. It is currently National Cultural Heritage, combining history with its function as a public space.
Spring (April-June) is best, when the gardens are in bloom. Avoid July-August because of the intense heat. As for timing, arrive early (9:00) to avoid crowds and enjoy the morning light.
Only partially. The ground floor of the palace has adapted access, but the gardens have stairways and uneven ground. There are accessible toilets. We recommend calling +351 289400840 in advance to confirm specific needs.
Within 5 minutes you will find the Roman Ruins of Milreu (perfect for history lovers) and Faro's historic center with its Cathedral and Arco da Vila. More info at Visit Algarve
Wear comfortable shoes (uneven paving), sunscreen, and bring water. If you visit on Sunday morning, combine it with Faro Municipal Market. Capture the views from the upper garden terrace.
