A full visit takes about 45 minutes. This includes touring its historic 200-seat auditorium, admiring the acoustics of the main hall, and discovering architectural details such as its original boxes.

Built in 1892, it is one of the oldest Portuguese theatres still in operation. It survived a fire in 1910 and was restored while preserving its original neoclassical structure. It played a key role in Aveiro's cultural life during the 19th century.

Spring and autumn are ideal because of Aveiro's mild weather. Avoid weekends with scheduled events if you are looking for a quieter visit. Wednesday to Friday mornings are usually less crowded.
