Discover Kolibki Park in Gdynia. A unique experience to learn about its history and significance.
Kolibki Park is open 24 hours a day all year round, as it is a public outdoor park. You can get there by bus lines 19 or 27 from the city center (Kolibki stop), by car via Parkowa Street, or on foot from the nearby beach. More details are available on the official Visit Gdynia website.
Entry to Kolibki Park is completely free for all visitors. There are no access fees or paid parking charges in designated areas, although checking local restrictions is recommended.
It is recommended to allow between 1 and 3 hours to explore the trails, the beach, and the views of the Baltic Sea. If you bring a picnic or go hiking, you can easily extend your visit to half a day.
Kolibki Park has historical significance as a former Polish coastal defense area during the Second World War, with remains of gun batteries and fortifications. Today, it is a green oasis that preserves coastal biodiversity and offers a contrast to modern Gdynia.
The best time is in summer (June to August) at sunset, when you can enjoy spectacular views of the Baltic Sea and fewer crowds. Avoid very windy winter days, when it can feel colder.
Much of the main trail network is paved and wheelchair-accessible, but some wooded areas and the beach have uneven terrain. There is nearby adapted parking; check the map on Gdynia.pl for accessible routes.
Nearby you will find Kolibki Beach for swimming, the Gdynia Aquarium about 10 minutes away by car, and central Gdynia with the museum ship Dar Pomorza. It is ideal for a full day on the coast.
Bring comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and water, as there are areas without shade; make use of the picnic tables for lunch. Download the Visit Gdynia app for offline maps and check the weather, as this park is exposed to the sea.
