We recommend allowing 1.5 to 2 hours for Pilgrims' Plaza and nearby structures. If you visit the entire archaeological complex (Temple of the Sun, etc.), you will need 3 to 4 hours.
It was a ceremonial center from AD 200 onward, where pre-Inca pilgrims came to consult the oracle of Pachacamac. Its trapezoidal design symbolizes ancestral religious architecture linked to the worship of the creator god.
The best time is the dry season (April to October). To avoid heat and crowds, arrive early (9 to 11 am) or after 2 pm. Clear mornings offer the best views of the valley.
There are accessible main paths, but some areas have uneven ground. The Site Museum has ramps. Call +5114300168 to confirm current conditions.
Within the same complex you will find the Temple of the Sun and the Acllahuasi. Nearby you can also visit: the Pachacamac Sanctuary (2 km), the beaches of Lurín (15 min), and the Pantanos de Villa wetlands (30 minutes by car).
1) Use sunscreen and a hat 2) Bring water and comfortable shoes 3) Hire certified guides at the ticket office 4) Do not touch archaeological structures 5) Visit the museum first for historical context.
