The church is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It is located in the historic center of Huamanga (28 de Julio Jr. 270). You can easily get there on foot from the Main Square or by taxi. Check for updates at Huamanga Tourism.
Admission is free, although voluntary donations are accepted for the maintenance of the church. No prior reservation is required for individual visits.
We recommend between 30 minutes and 1 hour to appreciate its Baroque architecture, gilded altarpieces, and the emblematic triangular bell tower, unique in South America.
Founded in 1548, it is a colonial jewel that blends Andean and Spanish architecture. It stands out for its pink Huamanga stone and houses paintings from the Cusco school. It played a key role in evangelization during the Viceroyalty.
Visit between April and October (dry season) to enjoy clear skies. To avoid crowds, arrive before 10 am on weekdays. During Holy Week it is especially impressive.
