The museum and ruins, located within Ybycuí National Park, are generally open Monday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To get there, you can follow this location on Google Maps, using the paved road that connects the city of Ybycuí with the park.
Access to the historic site requires payment of the National Park entrance fee, which is around 20,000 guaraníes per person plus an additional charge per vehicle. It is important to bring cash, as card payment systems are usually not available at the entrance.

It was the first iron foundry in South America and the industrial heart of Paraguay during the 19th century, producing cannons and vital ammunition. Its history is both fascinating and tragic, as it was destroyed by allied troops during the War of the Triple Alliance.
Spring and autumn are ideal for avoiding extreme heat, preferably early in the morning so you can enjoy the natural surroundings at a relaxed pace. If you go in summer, we suggest arriving first thing in the morning and then cooling off at the nearby waterfalls.
Access is limited; although you can get close by vehicle, the paths among the ruins are dirt, uneven, and include natural changes in level. It is recommended to consult the park rangers upon arrival to assess the safest access for your situation.
You are in the middle of an incredible nature reserve; do not miss Salto Minas, the most popular waterfall, and Salto Guaraní, both located a short distance away. They are essential nature stops within the same tourist circuit.
Bring insect repellent, as this is a wooded area, comfortable walking shoes, water, and sunscreen. Remember that alcoholic beverages are not allowed inside the park area, and it is essential not to leave any litter behind.
