The lookout is open every day from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is reached via the Panama–Arraiján road, with signage from the Inter-American Highway. We recommend checking current conditions at visitpanama.com before visiting.
Access is completely free. It is a public space maintained by the local community where you can enjoy the views at no cost.
Most visitors spend between 45 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the weather and any additional activities. It is perfect for panoramic photos, a light picnic, or simply taking in the views.
This lookout pays tribute to the first settlers of Arraiján. Its name honors engineer Luis Gothberg, who promoted infrastructure projects in this region during the 1960s.
Without a doubt, sunset (5:00 pm - 6:00 pm), when the views of the Gulf of Panama and the islands of the Taboga Archipelago become spectacular. Avoid the middle of the day because of the strong sun.
It has paved areas with basic access, but some sections with steep slopes may be difficult. We recommend visiting with a companion and contacting +507 500-0000 (Arraiján Tourism Office) for specific details.
Less than 15 minutes away you will find Camino de Cruces Natural Park and the Arraiján Crafts Market. You can also plan a combined route with the Interoceanic Canal Museum Interoceanic Canal Museum (30 minutes by car).
Essentials: water, sunscreen, a hat, and a camera. If you plan to stay until sunset, bring a light jacket because of the cool winds. Comfortable athletic shoes are recommended.
