Audio Guide of the New Tower

The tower is mainly open during the high season, from July to September, with guided tours at 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Booking is required and can be made through the Kampen tourist office or directly online. There are no off-season visits, but the tower can be admired from the outside at any time.

Admission to the tower costs €7.50 for adults and €3.50 for children. Discounts are available for groups and large families. There is no free admission, but the visit includes an audio guide in several languages.

The guided tour lasts approximately 45 minutes, including the climb to the bell and the explanation of the carillon. It is recommended to arrive 10 minutes early for the welcome and safety instructions.

The New Tower was built in the 15th century and was originally a church that became a carillon tower after a fire. It is a symbol of Kampen's rich medieval history and houses the famous carillon that sounds every hour.

The best time to visit is early in the morning, between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, when there are fewer crowds and the sound of the carillon can be heard more clearly. The summer season, from July to September, offers good weather and greater availability of guided tours.

The tower is not wheelchair accessible due to the narrow and steep stairs. However, the audio guide and informational materials are available in accessible formats, and the exterior of the tower can be visited freely.

Near the tower you will find the Kampen Museum, the old town hall, and the Beer Museum, all just a few minutes' walk away. You can also stroll through the charming old town, with its cobbled streets and craft shops.

Wear comfortable shoes, as the stairs are narrow and steep. Bring a light jacket, as it gets cool at the top of the tower. And don't forget to listen to the carillon from the square before climbing up, so you can enjoy the contrast between the sound from below and from above.
