Donde el polvo del desierto se mezcla con risas, regateos épicos y el bramido de camellos que saben más de negocios que tú.
The Sunday Market takes place every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to around 2:00 p.m. It is located in the center of Sidi Ifni, within walking distance from most hotels or by taxi from the bus station; check the map on Google Maps for precise directions.
Entry to the Sunday Market is completely free. You only pay for what you buy, such as local products, handicrafts, or fresh food.
An ideal visit lasts between 1 and 2 hours, enough time to explore the stalls and sample local specialties. If you want to bargain and shop, allow a little extra time.
This traditional market dates back to the Spanish colonial period and is a pillar of local Berber culture, where fresh produce, textiles, and livestock are sold. It represents everyday life in Sidi Ifni and its mixed Moroccan-Spanish heritage.
Go early in the morning (8–11 a.m.) on Sundays to avoid the heat and see the market at its liveliest. The best time of year is from September to May, during the dry season; avoid July and August because of the intense heat.
The market has narrow cobbled streets, which makes it challenging for wheelchairs. Assistance is recommended, or you can visit the main areas; contact the local town hall at +212 528 782 xxx for more information.
Nearby you will find Sidi Ifni Beach, a 10-minute walk away, the old Spanish fortress, and the abandoned church. You can also explore the Legzira viewpoint 30 km away; more details are available at Visit Morocco.
Bring cash in dirhams for bargaining (start at half the asking price), wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes. Try the fresh fish or local tagine, and download an audio guide at IAudioguia to enrich the cultural experience.
