Puntos de observación elevados en Ouzoud que regalan vistas impresionantes de las cascadas, integrados en un paisaje de acantilados y vegetación exuberante del Atlas marroquí.
As it is a natural setting, access to the viewpoints is open 24 hours a day, but we recommend visiting between 9:00 a.m. and sunset for greater safety. You can easily get there on foot from the village's main square by following the marked paths to the top or the base of the waterfall. You can find the exact location here: View location on Google Maps.
Access to the trails and panoramic viewpoints is completely free, and you do not need to buy official tickets. However, if you want to hire a local guide or use the traditional boats to get closer to the waterfall, you will need to agree on a price at the time.
To go down to the base, enjoy the intermediate viewpoints, take photos, and climb back up at a relaxed pace, we recommend setting aside between 2 and 3 hours. If you plan to eat at the restaurants with views or take a boat ride, half a day is ideal.
These viewpoints offer views of the tallest waterfalls in North Africa (110 meters), and their name, 'Ouzoud,' means 'olive' in Berber, referring to the olive trees that shade the path. They are a vital meeting point for local culture and home to the famous Barbary macaques.
Spring is the best season, as the water flow is impressive and the vegetation is lush without the stifling summer heat. The best time of day is mid-morning, when the sun often creates beautiful rainbows over the waterfall mist.
Unfortunately, most of the trails to the lower viewpoints have steep steps and uneven ground, so they are not suitable for wheelchairs. However, the upper viewpoint, near the parking area, offers an accessible panoramic view without the need to go down.
In addition to the waterfalls, you can visit the old water mills that still operate at the top or take an excursion to the impressive natural bridge of Imi n'Ifri. Lake Bin El Ouidane is also relatively close, perfect for rounding out your day in nature.
Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes, as the ground near the viewpoints can be wet and slippery. Also, keep your food stored away if you see the monkeys; they are friendly but very quick to grab a snack.
