Jaz Beach is a public space open 24 hours a day, although beach services usually operate from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is located just 2.5 km from Budva, and you can easily get there by taxi, on the local 'Mediterranean Express' bus, or by car via the E65 road.
Access to the beach is completely free for all visitors. However, please note that monitored parking and the rental of sun loungers and umbrellas come at an additional cost, especially during the high summer season.
As it is one of the longest beaches in the region, we recommend spending at least half a day there, around 4 or 5 hours. It is the ideal place to spend a full day, alternating between swims in the Adriatic Sea and relaxing at its beach bars.
In addition to its stunning natural setting, Jaz Beach gained worldwide fame after being chosen as the best beach in Europe by Lonely Planet in 2015. It is also a modern cultural icon for having hosted massive concerts by legends such as Madonna and The Rolling Stones.
To avoid large crowds and enjoy perfect weather, the months of June and September are ideal. If you travel in August, we recommend arriving before 9:30 a.m. to get a good spot near the shore.
The main access is flat and has paved areas near the restaurants, but the beach itself is made of pebbles and sand, which makes wheelchair movement to the water difficult without assistance. It is recommended to go with a companion to make it easier to move across the rocky area.
You are just a short distance from the impressive Budva Old Town, a must-see walled medieval citadel. You can also visit nearby Ploce Beach or Podmaine Monastery if you are looking for a bit of culture.
Bring water shoes, as the shoreline has pebbles that can be uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. Also, keep in mind that the far end of the beach is usually used as a nudist area, so you can choose the section you prefer.
