¿Sabías que en esta playa pacífica, los cañones gringos fallaron estrepitosamente mientras los Seri dominaban las olas?
San Francisco Beach is a public beach, so access is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is conveniently located in the coastal area of Guaymas and is easily reached by car or local transportation by following the main boulevard toward San Carlos.
There is no admission fee; access to the beach is completely free. However, we recommend bringing small change, as the use of palapas, restrooms, or nearby parking usually involves a modest fee managed by locals.
To have the full experience, we suggest setting aside at least half a day, around 4 to 5 hours. This will allow you to swim at a relaxed pace, enjoy the local cuisine by the shore, and unwind without rushing.
It is one of the beaches with the strongest family tradition in the region, known for its calm waters that have served as a gathering place for generations. Its gentle surf makes it a natural jewel within the Gulf of California, vital to local tourism in Sonora.
Ideally, visit in the morning to find a good spot or at sunset to enjoy spectacular sunsets. Spring and summer are perfect for swimming, although if you are looking for peace and quiet, avoid the Easter holiday period.
As a natural beach, moving across the sand in a wheelchair can be difficult. However, several beachfront restaurants have paved areas from which you can comfortably enjoy the view and the sea breeze.
You are very close to the famous destination of San Carlos, where you can visit the Scenic Lookout with sea views. We also recommend visiting Sonora Dolphinarium, located just a few minutes away by car.
Bring cash to pay for food or crafts, as not all vendors accept cards. Also, wear water shoes if you have sensitive feet, and do not forget your sunscreen so you can enjoy the Sonoran sun without worries.
