Xplor Park is an adventure paradise! It is open Monday to Saturday in two modes: Xplor Daytime from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Xplor Fuego (nighttime activities) from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM. They offer direct transportation from most hotels in Cancún and the Riviera Maya, or if you prefer to go on your own, it is located at Km 282 of the Chetumal - Puerto Juárez highway. You can find more details on how to get there and book your transportation on their official website: How to get to Xplor.
The price of admission to Xplor Park varies depending on the mode (daytime or nighttime) and how far in advance you purchase. Generally, buying online ahead of time can get you significant discounts. For example, by booking 7 or more days in advance, you can save 15%! I recommend checking the latest rates and special promotions directly on their tickets page: Xplor Tickets.
To fully enjoy all the exciting activities Xplor offers, such as zip-lines, amphibious vehicles, rafts, and swimming in underground rivers, I suggest dedicating a full day, that is, 6 to 8 hours. This will allow you to complete most of the circuits without rushing and enjoy the facilities and the open buffet. If you are only going for Xplor Fuego, 4-5 hours will be enough for the nighttime activities.
Although Xplor Park does not have an ancient pre-Hispanic or cultural history like some archaeological sites, its significance lies in the preservation and showcasing of the intricate system of underground rivers and caverns that characterize the Yucatán Peninsula. The Xcaret parks, including Xplor, are dedicated to displaying the natural beauty of the Mayan underground and promoting environmental awareness through modern adventure.
The best time of year to visit Xplor is the dry season, from November to May, when the weather is milder and there is less chance of rain. As for the time of day, if you prefer to avoid the crowds, I recommend arriving early, right when they open. If you are looking for a unique experience, Xplor Fuego, at night, offers a magical and unforgettable atmosphere with the cenote and jungle illuminated.
Due to the nature of the adventure activities, which include zip-lines, jungle trails, river swimming, and amphibious vehicles, Xplor Park can be challenging for people with very limited mobility or in wheelchairs. However, the park has wide trails and some accessible spaces. I suggest contacting their customer service team directly for more detailed information about the available options and to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible: Contact Xplor.
You are in a privileged area! Very close to Xplor Park you have plenty of options. You can explore the Mayan ruins of Tulum or Cobá, dive into the turquoise waters of Playa del Carmen, or visit other Grupo Xcaret parks such as Xcaret (cultural and natural), Xel-Há (snorkeling and coves), or Xoximilco (Mexican fiesta). The options are endless to complement your adventure at Xplor.
Of course! Here are some tips: Wear a comfortable swimsuit and light, quick-drying clothing. Bring water shoes (or you can buy them there). DO NOT use sunscreen or insect repellent that is not biodegradable, in order to protect the cenotes. Leave your valuables in the lockers and get the photo package; the GoPro cameras on the helmets are amazing! And most importantly, open your mind to adventure and enjoy every moment!
