No, access to the beach is completely free. You only need to pay if you want to rent services such as umbrellas, kayaks, or sun loungers (prices from $100 MXN). Nearby parking lots charge hourly rates.

Ideally, set aside 3 to 4 hours to enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and eating at one of the local restaurants. If you practice snorkeling or water sports, you could extend your visit to half a day.

It comes from the Zapotec word "Chahue" (humid or soaked place). Due to its location in Chahue Bay, it was an important area for maritime trade exchanges in pre-Hispanic times.

The dry season (November to April) offers the best conditions. As for the time of day, arrive between 9:00 and 11:00 am to avoid crowds and the intense afternoon sun. Sunsets (6:00 to 7:30 pm) are spectacular.

The coarse sand makes wheelchair movement difficult, but the restaurants and services in the area have ramps. The nearby marina (Chahue Marina) has certified accessibility.

Less than 10 minutes away you have: La Entrega Beach (ideal for snorkeling), Tangolunda and Santa Cruz Bays, as well as the pier where tours depart for Huatulco National Park. Do not miss the sunset at Maguey!
