Donde los corales tienen más historias de amor y conspiración que una telenovela cubana.
The reefs can be visited year-round during daylight hours. Access is exclusively by boat from Kuah Jetty (Langkawi) or from Kuala Perlis. We recommend booking tours with authorized operators. More information at: Langkawi Geopark.
There is no direct entrance fee, but you will need to pay for boat transport (from about 100 MYR) and possibly marine conservation fees. Some tours include snorkeling equipment and guides. Check options at: Malaysia Tourism.
Set aside half a day (4-5 hours), including boat transfers. Actual time on the reefs is usually 2-3 hours for responsible snorkeling and marine observation.
They are part of the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark, recognized for its biodiversity with more than 200 coral species. They are vital for coastal protection and endangered species such as sea turtles.
The dry season (November-April) offers better underwater visibility. Avoid July-September because of the monsoons. Early morning hours are ideal for fewer crowds and calmer waters.
Access has limitations: boats are not usually adapted, and snorkeling requires some mobility. We recommend contacting specialized operators such as Disabled Sailing Malaysia for tailored options.
Nearby highlights include: 1) Pantai Cenang (beaches), 2) Langkawi SkyCab (cable car), 3) Kilim Karst Geoforest Park. More suggestions: Langkawi Guide.
1) Use biodegradable sunscreen, 2) Never touch the corals, 3) Bring cash (few places accept cards), 4) Check the tide forecast. More recommendations at: Coral Initiative.
