¿Sabías que en este sendero de la Isla Dayang, monos macacos han robado cámaras, gafas y hasta bikinis? ¡Ven, que te cuento los secretos mientras sudamos juntos!
The trail is open every day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. To get there, you can take a ferry from Mersing Jetty (Johor) to Dayang Island. We recommend checking updated ferry schedules at Johor Tourism and arriving at least 1 hour in advance.
Access to the trail is free, but some guided tours have a fee (usually 20-40 MYR per person). We recommend booking with certified guides through the official tourism portal.
The average duration is 1.5 to 2.5 hours (3.5 km round trip), depending on your pace and the stops you make to observe the flora and fauna. Bring enough water, as there are no refill points along the route.
The trail protects one of the last remnants of primary rainforest on the island, with endemic species such as the Dayang macaque. Culturally, it includes ancient paths used by Orang Asli fishermen (an indigenous ethnic group) to connect coastal communities.
The dry season (March to October) is ideal to avoid torrential rain. We recommend going early: between 8-10 am you will see more bird and monkey activity, with cooler temperatures than at midday.
The terrain is uneven with exposed roots and steep slopes, so it is NOT accessible for wheelchairs or strollers. There are alternative viewpoints next to the main pier with paved access.
We recommend combining your visit with: 1) Teluk Dalam Beach (10 mins by bike) with snorkeling, 2) Bukit Penyu Viewpoint (panoramic views), and 3) the traditional fishing village. More details at Dayang Attractions.
Closed-toe shoes with good traction, strong mosquito repellent (there are wet areas), and at least 1 liter of water per person. NEVER feed the monkeys. If you want detailed information, download the official audio guide from our platform.
