Discover the Jordan Folklore Museum in Amman. A unique experience to learn about its history and significance.
The Folklore Museum is generally open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is located within the Roman Theatre complex in downtown Amman. We recommend checking updated hours on Jordan's tourism website: visitjordan.gov.jo
Admission is usually included in the combined Roman Theatre ticket (approx. 2-3 JOD). It is free with the Jordan Pass. For updated prices: jordanpass.jo
A typical visit lasts 30-45 minutes. It is a small museum but rich in content, ideal to combine with the Roman Theatre.
It preserves Bedouin heritage and Jordanian traditions by displaying traditional clothing, musical instruments, tools, and historical everyday objects. A window into traditional 19th-century life.
Early in the morning (before 11 a.m.) to avoid crowds and heat. In low season (spring/autumn) there are fewer visitors.
Initial access is good, but some areas have old stairs. The ground floor is accessible, but assistance is recommended for the upper area of the Roman Theatre.
Next to the museum is the impressive Roman Theatre. Ten minutes away: the Citadel and the historic center with souks and traditional restaurants.
Wear comfortable shoes for the uneven ground, dress modestly, and consider a local guide to better understand the collection. Always ask before photographing objects.
