El volcán sagrado que fue una propiedad privada y esconde postales escritas desde el infierno
The main access for visiting Mount Fuji in Shizuoka is during the official climbing season (July 1 to September 10). You can reach the 5th Station by car or bus from Kawaguchiko. Outside the season, access is usually limited to the second station due to dangerous conditions. More information: Official website.
Access to the mountain is free, but you must pay for parking (1,000-2,000 yen per day) or buses (2,000-3,500 yen round trip from Tokyo). Mountain huts cost 6,000-8,000 yen per night with meals. Check bus schedules at: Japan Bus Online.
For climbing: 5-8 hours up and 3-5 hours down (2 days with an overnight stay in a mountain hut is recommended). For sightseeing at the base: half a day is enough. To see the sunrise (Goraikō), start the ascent at midnight.
It is a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site (2013) and a sacred symbol in Shinto. For centuries it has been a place of pilgrimage and a source of artistic inspiration. Visit Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, the main shrine dedicated to the mountain.
The ideal season is October to February (clear skies), but the summit is snowy. For climbing: July-August (temperatures above 0°C). Avoid the rainy season (June). The best time of day is before 9 AM, when there is less cloud cover.
Up to the 5th Station (2,300 m) there is vehicle access, parking, adapted restrooms, and shops. Beyond that there are no accessible routes. Check accessibility information at: Shizuoka Government (+81-54-221-2455).
