The reserve is open 24 hours a day all year round, as it is a protected natural area without fixed opening hours. The main access is from Acquaviva Platani via rural roads; using your own car or a taxi is recommended, and you should follow the signs to Monte Conca. It is recommended to allow between 2 and 4 hours for a full visit, depending on whether you go for a light hike or explore the viewpoints. A basic route along the main trails takes about 2 hours.

Created in 1998 by the Sicilian Region, it protects a relict holm oak forest and endemic Mediterranean vegetation, home to birds of prey such as the golden eagle and mammals such as the fox. Its cultural value lies in its role as a natural refuge in the heart of central Sicily, preserving the area's biodiversity.

Spring (March-May) or autumn (September-November) are ideal thanks to the mild weather and blooming flora. Go early in the morning to avoid the Sicilian heat and enjoy better light for photos.

The reserve has mountainous trails and uneven paths, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or visitors with reduced mobility. There are accessible viewpoint areas near the main entrance, but check with local guides for adapted options.

Nearby you will find the village of Acquaviva Platani with its Baroque church, or 30 km away Lake Pergusa with its racetrack and Greek myths. You can also visit Caltanissetta (40 km) for its cathedral and museums; ideal for a combined day trip.
