The church is generally open to the public every day from 10:00 to 18:00 in summer (June-August), but outside the season it depends on local events; check East Iceland. It is located in the center of Eskifjörður, accessible by car via the Ring Road (Route 1), with free parking nearby.
Admission is completely free, with no fees or reservations required. It is a parish church open to all visitors.
About 20-30 minutes is recommended to explore the interior, admire the architecture, and read the information plaques. If you are interested in the history, you may want to stay a little longer.
Built in 1817, it is one of the oldest wooden churches in Iceland and a key example of 19th-century ecclesiastical style in the Eastfjords. It represents the Lutheran and cultural heritage of the region, with preserved original interiors.
