You are in a strategic location; nearby you will find the town of Reyðarfjörður, known for its World War II history. A stop at the relaxing Vök Baths is also highly recommended if you are heading inland via Egilsstaðir.

Do not leave without trying fermented shark or dried fish at Randulff's Sea House; it is an authentic gastronomic experience. Also, always bring waterproof clothing and hiking shoes, as the weather in the fjords can change within minutes.
