Un mirador icónico en Zakynthos con vistas panorámicas al mar Jónico, la bahía de Zante y las colinas circundantes. Ruinas de una antigua fortaleza veneciana coronan este punto elevado.
Bochali Viewpoint is a public space open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. It is only a 5–10 minute drive from Zakynthos Town; you can go up by taxi, rent a vehicle, or, if you feel energetic, walk uphill from the port.
No, access to the viewpoint and the main square is completely free. You only need to pay if you decide to enter the nearby Venetian Castle or have something at the terrace cafés in the area.
To enjoy the views and take some amazing photos, 30 to 45 minutes is enough. If you plan to visit the castle or have dinner while watching the sunset, we suggest allowing at least 2 hours.
Bochali is an aristocratic neighborhood that partially survived the great earthquake of 1953, preserving the charm of old Zakynthos. It lies below the Venetian Castle, which served as a defensive fortress and the island’s capital for centuries.
Without a doubt, sunset and nighttime are the most spectacular moments. You will see the sky change color and the lights of the town and port come alive below your feet, creating an unmatched romantic atmosphere.
The main square of the viewpoint is paved and accessible if you arrive by vehicle to the upper area. However, some nearby streets are narrow, and access inside the castle includes uneven ground that is difficult for wheelchairs.
Just behind the viewpoint you will find the historic Venetian Castle and the beautiful Church of Zoodochos Pigi. In addition, you are very close to Zakynthos Town, where you can visit Solomos Square and the Byzantine Museum.
Parking is very limited in high season, so arrive early or use a taxi to avoid stress. To make sure you do not miss any detail of the history, we recommend bringing our IAudioguia audio guide downloaded on your phone.
